Welcome to my website. A photographic journey of my travels around the UK, my home country, and China my ultimate destination.

I started photography many moons ago. Bought secondhand Praktica camera and just went off to try on my own. My initial results were OK but lacking in something so I decided to buy photo magazines and learn.
I enrolled on a series of City and Guilds courses which allowed me to improve my photography, gain Royal Photographic society qualifications but more importantly give me an idea of the subject I preferred. It was landscapes.
The most important thing for me next was to choose the right gear for what I wanted, a mix of quality and affordability. I eventually traded up to a Hasselblad which is a dream camera for most of us, a beautiful piece of equipment which served me well.
Sadly film has quickly been overtaken by digital and of course I have had to go with the flow. I have always had Nikon 35mm cameras and lenses so it was easy for me to switch, after starting with a D70S I have now found my perfect camera, the D200.
Digital has made a big difference to photography and I suppose I am grateful to be part of it.

In 2006 I briefly visited Hong Kong and Foshan in southern China before heading over to Taiwan for a trip around the lovely island. This gave me my first inside into the culture, the food and language.
In September 2007 I spent 3 weeks travelling around the south west of China. I took trains and buses through from Guangzhou to Yunnan province, visiting Kunming, Dali and Lijiang before eventually arriving in Chengdu, main city in Sichuan.
April and May 2008 was my next trip to Guangzhou and Guangdong area,Yangshuo, Guilin, and up to Hunan province and my favourite place, Fenghuang.
January 2009, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, then through Hunan and Hubei provinces.
